TC Daily Pit Stop: Ryan Truex Wins as Daytona Delivers Carnage; Michael McDowell Leads Front Row sweep of Coke Zero 400 front row; Zane Parts Ways with Trackhouse; Dye Lands 2025 Ride
TC Daily Pit Stop: Saturday, August 24, 2024
Happy NASCAR Cup Series race day! Thanks for checking out the latest edition of the TC Daily Pit Stop. I think the smoke is still settling from Ryan Truex’s burnout and the wild crashes from last night’s race, but let’s get into the rundown of everything!
Ryan Truex Earns Second Xfinity Win of 2024 at Daytona
How about that? It took Ryan Truex 13 years to score his first NASCAR Xfinity Series race win. 15 months after his first triumph, the driver has now collected three wins in the series, the latest coming in an overtime finish at Daytona in Friday night’s Wawa 250.
Truex held the lead on the final lap when Parker Kligerman and AJ Allmendinger made contact while battling for second behind him. The contact sent Allmendinger crashing, which brought out the caution, and froze the field to secure the win for Truex. The incident between Kligerman and Allmendinger allowed Chandler Smith to take a runner-up finish.
