TC Daily Pit Stop: Potential Spoilers for Sunday's Playoff Race at the Charlotte ROVAL
TC Daily Pit Stop: Thursday, October 10, 2024
We’re getting closer and closer to the elimination race in the Round of 12 for the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL, and the excitement is building.
Spoiler Alert: Five Non-Playoff Drivers Who Could Play Spoiler at The ROVAL
The NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs officially reached its halfway point following last Sunday’s YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. The post-season has brought chaos along with it, as it always has, but this season seems to be different.
Only twice in the opening five post-season events (Joey Logano at Atlanta and Kyle Larson at Bristol) has a playoff-eligible driver been to Victory Lane, in fact, it’s been a sequence of races that has favored non-playoff drivers.
Chris Buescher and Shane Van Gisbergen battled it out for the victory in NASCAR Overtime at Watkins Glen International, Ross Chastain held off William Byron for the win at Kansas Speedway, and most recently, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. edged out Brad Keselowski in a photo finish at Talladega Superspeedway.

All I care about is that they are properly enforced, and enforced consistently each and every week. NASCAR race control has had a big issue with that over the years, and perhaps the most egregious display of the incompetence in the tower came during last Sunday's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

DID YOU GET OUR LAST QUESTION CORRECT? Let’s check!
Q: Does Denny Hamlin have more poles or top-10s at the Charlotte ROVAL.
A: Top-10s. 81% got it right. But, in reality, you all got it right because Toby messed up and put the option as poles instead of first-place starts! Hamlin doesn’t technically have a pole at the track, but he does have two first-place starts. The driver of the No. 11 only has one top-10 at the racetrack.
