Ryan Bergenty, Gilliland Crew Chief, Has Stent Placed; Will Not Miss Atlanta
On Friday evening, we were made aware of a scary medical situation, which had a happy ending. Ryan Bergenty, the crew chief for Todd Gilliland and the No. 38 Front Row Motorsports team in the NASCAR Cup Series, says he felt intermittent chest discomfort this week, and he just knew something about it wasn’t right.
In a post on X, Bergenty revealed that he got checked out by a physician, and it turned out the crew chief had an 80% blockage of his main artery. Bergenty had a procedure where doctors placed a stent to cure the issues. Miraculously, the blockage was caught before any damage was done, and Bergenty will not have to miss this weekend’s race at Atlanta either.

Did you get yesterday’s question correct? Let’s check! Question: Heading Into Atlanta, Who has completed the most miles in NASCAR Cup Series Competition this season?
Correct Answer: 25% of you got this one right! Daniel Hemric has completed more miles than any other driver through the opening 26 races of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season with 9,223.84 miles completed.
Top Answer: 32% of you went with Chase Elliott, which is a great guess. Elliott has just one DNF this season. However, his total mileage completed (9,030.09 miles) this season comes up nearly 200 miles shy of Hemric’s total.
