Austin Hill took the white flag in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series US Marine Corps 250 at Martinsville Speedway in the sixth position. When he took the checkered flag, he was scored as the race winner. Unbelievable, yes. But it in fact was the result of a lot of pushing and shoving between Sammy Smith and Taylor Gray, who were fighting for the win over the last few laps of the race.

The bump-and-run, which both drivers had executed on back-to-back restarts turned into an I’ll-dump-you-and-myself-while-trying-to-run move by Smith, which wrecked both drivers. Hill squeaked through to win, Sheldon Creed finished second, and Allgaier came home in third.

Christopher Bell Holds On for First Pole of 2025 at Martinsville

Christopher Bell took the pole position for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway and was shocked that he did because he felt he was an afterthought for the pole due to his poor slot in the qualifying order.

However, Bell, the 17th driver to take a lap in the 38-car field, went to the top of the charts, where he would remain through the end of qualifying to secure his first pole of the 2025 season. Chase Elliott will start alongside Bell on Sunday on the front row.
