(VIDEO) Xfinity Series Martinsville Post-Race Interviews: Sammy Smith, Taylor Gray, Jeb Burton

After a post-race confrontation with Taylor Gray at the infield care center, Sammy Smith said that while he wasn’t proud of how it turned out, he would do what he did at the finish of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Martinsville again because he felt he wasn’t respected by Taylor Gray.

Smith said that Gray flipped him off under the red flag, which was the tipping point for him, and that’s why he decided to aggressively send Gray spinning on the final lap of the US Marine Corps 250.

Taylor Gray Confronted Sammy Smith to Let Him Know How he Felt

Taylor Gray wasn’t happy after being roughed up for the second consecutive time while battling for a win at Martinsville (was shoved out of the way by Christian Eckes in the Truck race last Fall). So, Gray says he confronted Sammy Smith at the infield care center to let him know he didn’t appreciate being dumped.

Harrison Burton Also Displeased by Sammy Smith

A potential top-10 run for Harrison Burton was dashed on Saturday when Sammy Smith shoved Corey Day into him, causing both drivers to crash early in the event. After Smith exited the infield care center, Burton confronted Smith to talk about the early-race incident, which derailed his race.

Jeb Burton Upset With Daniel Dye

While the focus was on Sammy Smith versus the World, Jeb Burton was fuming with Daniel Dye, who he said was, “Racing over his head with no respect,” in the closing laps of the race. Burton had some strong words for Dye, and says if the Kaulig Racing driver wants to keep racing like that, he’ll, “Put him over the grandstands next time.”
