Casey Mears Appreciative of Chance to Compete in First Cup Race in Six Years

Casey Mears wishes he could have been more competitive in his first NASCAR Cup Series start in six seasons, but he was very thankful for the opportunity to compete for Garage 66 in Sunday’s Cook Out 400 at Martinsville.

Mears said his cool suit failed mid-race, which made things quite hot in the car, but he survived and hopes to continue chasing 500-career starts. As it stands, Mears has 490 NASCAR Cup Series starts on his record.
