Larson Scores Maximum Points In Dominant Cup Series Win at Kansas
Kyle Larson had quite a day on Sunday afternoon in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. The driver of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet led a race-high 235 laps in the 267-lap event, swept Stages 1 and 2, and turned the fastest lap on his path to a second win of the season.
It was a day that Larson, the point leader coming into the day, scored maximum points (76).
However, while Larson was head-and-shoulders above the competition for the majority of the race, he had to fend off Chase Briscoe in the final Stage of the race.
With 30 laps remaining, Briscoe surprisingly snatched the lead from Larson during a green-flag run, and it looked like he was now in control of the race. Then, Briscoe’s car would snap loose, and Larson would find his groove and chase him down.
With seven laps left, Larson would reclaim the lead, and he’d never look back. Briscoe would collide with the wall and would fade to a fourth-place finish.
Austin Cindric and Denny Hamlin finished second and third behind Larson.

Kyle Larson scored max points (76 points) in a winning performance at Kansas Speedway, which allowed him to extend his NASCAR Cup Series point lead from one to 26 points over Denny Hamlin.
