NASCAR Adjusts Practice and Qualifying Procedure Ahead of 2025
Ahead of the 2025 season, NASCAR is set to overhaul its practice and qualifying procedures. The sanctioning body confirmed the changes on December 12, which includes the majority of sessions being trimmed to a single round.
These changes were made for a number of reasons, including an increased amount of practice time for teams, to create consistency between each of NASCAR’s National Series, and the overall just simplify the entire process.

JR Motorsports Bringing DEI #8 Font to Xfinity in 2025 with Sammy Smith
JR Motorsports is bringing an iconic number font back to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025, debuting the new-look No. 8 with the Dale Earnhardt, Inc. font that Sammy Smith will compete with.

Ty Majeski Loses Appeal of Fine for Missing Championship 4 Media Day
On December 11, the National Motorsports Appeals Panel (NMAP) heard and considered the case by Ty Majeski to have his $12,500 fine — incurred for missing Championship 4 Media Day — erased. Majeski was unsuccessful.
Majeski, who ended up winning the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship, argued that he missed Media Day since it fell on the day of the Federal Election, and he chose to stay in Wisconsin to cast a vote.
