TC Weekly Pit Stop: A Newsletter Update; Honeycutt Wins Snowball Derby
TC Weekly Pit Stop: December 9th, 2024
Hey everybody! Just wanted to provide an update about the TC Daily Pit Stop.
We are about a month into the off-season (which is insane), and finally, the dust has settled from a hectic 2024 NASCAR season. But, things are still pretty crazy around these parts!
Toby (the website’s founder) and his wife, Krista, have welcomed their second child into the world, and thus he is off on parental leave. As many of you already know, we have a pretty small staff, and because of our other partnerships and obligations, that means time for the TC Daily Pit Stop has been… limited.
So, effective immediately, the TC Daily Pit Stop will become the TC Weekly Pit Stop, and every week, on Monday, we will give you a complete rundown of the NASCAR-related news that dropped during the previous week.
BUT DON’T WORRY — we will eventually return to the daily newsletter format.
Kaden Honeycutt Passes Ty Majeski, Holds Off Stephen Nasse for Snowball Derby Win
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Kaden Honeycutt captured the victory in the prestigious Snowball Derby this past weekend, after beating defending Truck Series champion Ty Majeski and short track veteran Stephen Nasse.
Honeycutt took the lead from the two-time and defending Snowball Derby winner, Ty Majeski, with 19 laps to go, and quickly distanced himself from the race dominator. However, Nasse quickly took over the runner-up spot and began closing the gap.
How badly did Honeycutt want to win the Snowball Derby?
“I threw up,” said Honeycutt. “I worked up everything in my system. That’s everything I had, I gave it everything I got to win that race. It’s just crazy. That’s what this race and this sport does to you.”

Teams across NASCAR’s National Series will no longer be required to place American Ethanol “Get Bioethanol” branding both around and inside the fuel port of vehicles, beginning in 2025.
The cancellation of this requirement was relayed to teams earlier this week in the form of a memo from NASCAR, which was obtained by Racing America OnSI. This change will apply to the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Craftsman Truck Series.

Toni Breidinger Preparing for Rookie Truck Campaign in 2025
Toni Breidinger is preparing to take the next step in her racing career, making a jump into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series full-time in 2025. The native of San Francisco, California will drive the No. 5 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for TRICON Garage.
It’s a substantial undertaking for the 25-year-old driver, who has spent the last four seasons competing in the ARCA Menards Series.
“I’ve learned a lot in the ARCA [Menards] Series,” Breidinger said in a media availability. “I would not be making the step to the Truck Series without that kind of stepping stone with the ARCA Series. We compete on a lot of similar tracks that we’ll go to in the Truck Series, so at least I’m going to be familiar with some of the tracks on the schedule.”
NASCAR Files Motion to Dismiss Antitrust Lawsuit from 23XI, FRM
The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) and its CEO, Jim France, have both filed motions to dismiss the antitrust lawsuit that was brought against them earlier this Fall by 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports.
In the motion, which was filed on Monday, December 2, the sanctioning body outlines several reasons as to why they believe the lawsuit has no merit, pleading that the court immediate dismiss the case.
The teams will have until December 16 to respond.
