Connor Zilisch Recovers from Sloppy Mid-Race to Win at COTA
At times, Connor Zilisch’s race run didn’t look pretty. But in the end, the 18-year-old phenom was able to overcome a penalty, and several on-track miscues in the back half of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Focused Health 250 at COTA to score his second career win in the series.
Zilisch made the race-winning pass on his JR Motorsports teammate Carson Kvapil with 10 laps to go, and he didn’t look back.
William Byron would end up finishing second to Zilisch, and he was followed by Sam Mayer, Austin Hill, and Christian Eckes inside of the top-five.

Reddick Tops Wallace in 23XI Racing Sweep of Front Row at COTA
Tyler Reddick led the way on a big day for 23XI Racing in Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series qualifying session at Circuit of the Americas.
Reddick captured his 10th career NASCAR Cup Series pole and second career at COTA, but with his teammate Bubba Wallace following him (literally on the track and figuratively on the scoring sheet), 23XI Racing secured the first front row qualifying sweep of the team’s existence.
Chase Elliott will start third on Sunday in the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix, and he’ll be followed by Carson Hocevar, Daniel Suarez, Shane van Gisbergen, Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Ross Chastain, and Todd Gilliland.
Connor Zilisch, making his Cup Series debut, will start the day from the 14th position.
