Threat of Winter Weather Causes Postponement of Saturday Activity at Bowman Gray, NASCAR Says The Clash Still Set for Sunday
Everyone expected winter weather to wreak havoc on the race weekend schedule for this weekend’s Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. The first domino fell on Thursday as NASCAR officially announced the postponement of Saturday’s on-track activity at the 0.250-mile short track due to the threat of weather that’s expected to impact the Winston-Salem area.
The Cook Out Madhouse Classic, featuring events with NASCAR Weekly Series’ Modified and Sportsman divisions, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 31, will be rescheduled with a future date to be announced later.
NASCAR says, as of now, the Cook Out Clash remains a go for Sunday evening at Bowman Gray Stadium, and Friday’s The Clash Preview event at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Event Center remains unchanged as well. The Clash Preview event is scheduled to take place from 10 AM ET to 2 PM ET at the Fairgrounds.
