Phoenix Raceway’s curved pit road makes for one of the trickiest pit roads in all of NASCAR. Some teams, like the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing group and the No. 7 Spire Motorsports shined in Sunday’s Shriners Children’s 500.
Others did not.

Connor Zilisch Earns Four-Race Xfinity Slate in No. 88 for JR Motorsports
Connor Zilisch, a Trackhouse development driver, is rising quickly through the NASCAR ranks. At only 17 years old, the driver has already collected the win in the Rolex 24, and he finished second in his ARCA Menards Series debut last year.
Now, Zilisch is set for a four-race NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign with JR Motorsports in the No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro. Zilisch will debut at Watkins Glen in September, and then return at Kansas (September), Homestead (October), and Phoenix (November).

Get your chips and drinks ready, AJ Allmendinger will pilot a special Mountain Dew and Cheetos Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Kaulig Racing in this weekend’s Food City 500. As has been the case over the last few seasons, the Mountain Dew / Cheetos ride is part of a marketing deal with Food City, which carries the products in its store.
Allmendinger, who is running a full-time schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season, finished sixth in the season-opening Daytona 500 in the No. 16 Kaulig entry.
