Reddick Continues Hot Streak, Takes COTA Pole Seeking 3rd Straight Win
Tyler Reddick rocketed to the pole for Sunday’s DuraMax Texas Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, and now the driver of the No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota, who has won the opening two races of the season, will have his eye on making history on Sunday afternoon.
If Reddick can capture the win on Sunday at COTA, he’ll become the first driver to ever start a NASCAR Cup Series season with three straight wins, and he’d also become the first two-time NASCAR Cup winner at the facility in Austin, TX.
But it won’t be easy, as Reddick will have to hold off a hungry field of drivers, including former COTA winner Ross Chastain, who will start from the second position.
Chase Briscoe, Ryan Blaney, and Chase Elliott rounded out the top-five fastest qualifiers. Shane van Gisbergen, who is regarded as the strongest road racer in the Cup Series but has yet to win at COTA, will start from the 13th position.
