Todd Gordon Joins LEGACY Motor Club as Crew Chief for Jimmie Johnson, Elenz Signed to Multi-Year Extension
Todd Gordon, who left his post as a full-time crew chief with Team Penske following the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season, will return to the series as a crew chief in 2023, albeit on a part-time basis.
Gordon, a 25-time winner in the NASCAR Cup Series and a championship-winning crew chief with Joey Logano in 2018, will serve as crew chief for LEGACY MOTOR CLUB and Jimmie Johnson, sitting atop the box of the No. 84.
Additionally, Dave Elenz has signed a multi-year contract extension with the organization, which will see him remain crew chief of the No. 43 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Cup Series through 2025.
Brad Keselowski, RFK Racing Paying Tribute to Ken Block with Phoenix Test Design
Brad Keselowski and RFK Racing will be paying tribute to Ken Block, an icon in the motorsports world, during the two-day NASCAR Cup Series organizational test at Phoenix Raceway.
Keselowski, who pilots the No. 6 Ford Mustang for RFK Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series, will participate in Tuesday and Wednesday’s organized test session at the one-mile oval while carrying a livery that honors Ken Block.
Block – a globally-recognized name in motorsports, and co-founder of Hoonigan and DC Shoes – was tragically killed in a snowmobile accident earlier this month, at the age of 55.
The announcement of a tribute scheme from Keselowski and RFK Racing comes two days after the announcement from Ford Performance, a long-time partner of Block’s racing efforts, that all of its teams across all series, will start the season with a decal to honor Block.
Alpha Prime, Ryan Ellis Secure Partnership With ShineWater For Las Vegas
Ryan Ellis and the No. 43 Alpha Prime Racing team will have a new partner on board its Chevrolet Camaro when the NASCAR Xfinity Series reaches Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March. ShineWater will make its maiden voyage as a primary sponsor in the world of NASCAR as they support Ellis in the Alsco Uniforms 300.
ShineWater, according to the release, is a ready-to-drink hydration beverage, which comes equipped with 100% of your daily recommended dose of vitamin D in each bottle.
With more and more people staying indoors these days, the brand states that nearly half of the US population actually suffers from vitamin D deficiency. The partnership with Ellis will bring attention to that issue, while also bringing the ShineWater brand to the NASCAR fanbase.
