The Final Lap: Preece Wins Bowman Gray! Hamlin & ROVAL News
The Final Lap Weekly is back, and this week, Toby and Kerry break down an emotional win for Ryan Preece in the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, a twice-postponed race that seemingly would not end.
They also talk about the news of the week, including Denny Hamlin’s reveal that he suffered a torn right shoulder while digging through the rubble of the housefire that claimed the life of his father, Dennis, in the offseason.
Another topic discussed is the removal of the Charlotte ROVAL from the schedule. Was the time right to get rid of the polarizing track layout?

Carson Hocevar Signs Long-Term Contract Extension with Spire Motorsports
Spire Motorsports announced a long-term contract extension which will keep Carson Hocevar behind the wheel of the No. 77 Chevrolet, “into the next decade.” While terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, the phrasing of into the next decade indicates the deal is at least a four-year commitment, a rarity in the world of NASCAR.
“It’s a pretty big moment for our company to announce an extension with Carson [Hocevar] that takes us out for multiple years,” said Jeff Dickerson, co-owner of Spire Motorsports. “It’s not just about knowing he’ll be here with us for the long haul, but it gives our sponsors and competition group the foresight to make their own plans knowing he’s in the seat of the No. 77 as far as we can see.”
Hocevar will also contest a total of 13 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events in 2026 behind the wheel of the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado.
