Shane Van Gisbergen Tapped to Drive Trackhouse PROJECT 91 Entry in Chicago Street Race

Shane van Gisbergen will join Kimi Räikkönen as a driver of the Trackhouse Racing PROJECT91 NASCAR Cup Series entry as the Australian V8 Supercars was announced as the driver of the No. 91 machine for the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series Chicago Street Course event.
“I can honestly say I have dreamed about an opportunity in NASCAR, but really never thought it would become a reality,” said van Gisbergen, a native of New Zealand. “I can’t wait to get to the States to meet everyone and prepare for Chicago. It’s NASCAR’s first time on the streets of Chicago so in some ways everyone will be a rookie like me, but I don’t underestimate that it’s going to be a huge challenge.”
SVG is a three-time Supercars champion, and will carry sponsorship from enhance health and Quad Lock.

G2G Racing, Young’s Motorsports Fined, Docked 25 Points for Using Out-Of-Date Window Nets

G2G Racing’s No. 46 and 47 entries and Young’s Motorsports’ No. 12 and No. 20 entries were hit with NASCAR sanctions on Thursday, as all four trucks were found to have been utilizing out-of-date window nets.
According to the NASCAR penalty report, the Young’s Motorsports trucks were busted for the window nets at Kansas Speedway a couple of weeks ago, while the G2G trucks were caught at Darlington Raceway.
NASCAR has docked the team’s drivers 25 championship driver points, the teams have all been docked 25 championship owner points, and all four crew chiefs have been assessed a fine of $5,000.
G2G Racing issued a statement on Thursday stating that they plan to appeal the penalties.
