TC Daily Pit Stop: Strategy Yields Top-10 For Hocevar at Talladega; Texas Entry Lists Are Here!

Strategy Switch Up Brings Carson Hocevar a Talladega Top-10
Fuel mileage and strategic calls have been the name of the game in the recent era of Superspeedway racing. Carson Hocevar and his crew chief Luke Lambert executed a bold strategy of pitting with the Toyota contingent of cars on their final pit stop of the race.
“I thought that was a good play, ultimately coming with [the Toyota drivers]. If the yellow comes out, you cycle to the lead against the others, and we were able to execute really well on pit road, that was really big for us,” said Hocevar. “Our pit crew did a really good job, everybody did a phenomenal job, and we had to change the helmet and do a lot of things, and fight through a lot of adversity, a package that is really difficult to pass.”
In the end, it netted the driver and No. 77 Spire Motorsports team a sixth-place finish following the post-race disqualifications of Ryan Preece (2nd) and Joey Logano (fifth).
