Sonoma Raceway Replaces Tire Packs in Turn 11 with ‘Permanent’ Wall
In the weeks leading into NASCAR’s annual trip to Sonoma Raceway, the major topic of discussion has been the repaving of the 1.99-mile road course, and the impact it will have on the weekend’s racing activities.
However, that’s not the only major change being made for this weekend.
On Thursday, a representative from Sonoma Raceway confirmed to TobyChristie.com that the racetrack has replaced the tire barriers on the inside of Turn 11 with a permanent wall, in an attempt to reinforce track boundaries.

Nitrocross Investor Dana White Working Deal with NASCAR for Electric Series?
In an all-electric racing series on the horizon for NASCAR?
On the latest episode of the Flagrant podcast, UFC CEO Dana White says that his company, Thrill One Sports & Entertainment, which owns properties such as Nitro Circus, Nitrocross, and Street League Skateboarding, is set to do a deal this Summer to make it a reality.
“We own Nitro Circus, and we own Travis Pastrana’s Nitrocross, which is electric car racing,” White said. “After Fourth of July, I’m flying to NASCAR and we’re doing a deal with NASCAR. We’re going to be the electric series for NASCAR. We’re working on that deal, right now.”

Sonoma Aviation Backing Alex Labbe, SS-GreenLight Racing at Sonoma
As Alex Labbe embarks on his second NASCAR Xfinity Series start of the 2024 season, this time in the No. 07 SS-GreenLight Racing Chevrolet Camaro, he’ll have primary sponsorship from Sonoma Aviation. The company is elated to partner with the 31-year-old racer, who hails from Canada.
“As the premier gateway to Sonoma County and Northern California’s Wine Country, Sonoma Aviation is delighted to partner with Alex Labbe and Snow Belt MGMT!” said Sonoma Aviation president Jeremy Epperson. “We’re excited to be part of the team!”

Yahoo!, Corey Heim, Tyler Reddick Add Three Races to Sam Hunt Racing Schedule
It’s enough to make fans scream, “Yahoo!” On Thursday, Sam Hunt Racing announced that Corey Heim and Tyler Reddick will share driving duties of the team’s No. 26 Toyota GR Supra over the next three NASCAR Xfinity Series races thanks to primary sponsorship from Yahoo!
Heim, the 21-year-old full-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series racer, will slide behind the wheel at Iowa Speedway on June 15, and again at New Hampshire Motor Speedway the following week on June 22.
Reddick, the NASCAR Cup Series regular for 23XI Racing, will run the event at Nashville Superspeedway on June 29 for the organization.
