Several Drivers and Teams Reveal Throwback Paint Schemes on Thursday
A plethora of drivers and teams revealed their throwback paint schemes on Thursday, as we are swiftly approaching NASCAR’s Throwback Weekend next week at Darlington Raceway.
Among the NASCAR Cup Series drivers and teams, who revealed their throwback looks for next Sunday’s Goodyear 400 were Alex Bowman, who will throw it back to Jimmie Johnson’s black and white 2012 paint scheme, which secured the 200th win all-time for Hendrick Motorsports.
Cole Custer and the No. 41 Haas Factory Team revealed a special throwback paint scheme honoring Mr. Excitement — Jimmy Spencer. Custer’s car will look like Spencer’s No. 41 Target machine from the 2002 season.
And Christopher Bell revealed that he will throw it back to his racing mentor Rick Ferkel with his No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry XSE next weekend.
Kyle Busch Defeats 9-Year-Old Son in First Head-to-Head Race
On Wednesday night, two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch got the chance to compete against his 9-year-old son Brexton Busch for the first time in an official race.
The father and son duo squared off in a Winged Micro Sprint race A-Main at Millbridge Speedway in Salisbury, NC. The elder Busch ended the night with bragging rights as he finished third on the dirt track, while the younger Busch came home sixth in the 20-car field.
