Spire Motorsports Adds Sammy Smith to Driver Lineup for No. 7 Truck
Sammy Smith, a full-time NASCAR Xfinity driver for JR Motorsports, will pilot the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado in a four-race NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule this season.
Smith will make his first NASCAR Truck Series start of the season at Martinsville Speedway next weekend in the Long John Silver’s 200. Spire Motorsports has two wins this season and an additional win with their alliance-mate Nick Sanchez.

Ward Burton Returns to Race Against Son Jeb Burton, and Talented Field of Drivers in the Orange Crush 200 on Racing America
On Friday, March 29, Ward Burton will make his first start as a race car driver in a long, long time as he competes head-to-head with his son Jeb Burton, and a who’s who list of drivers including Jeremy Mayfield at Orange Country Speedway in North Carolina. If you’d like to see Ward mix it up again, the race will be available on PPV via Racing America, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation.

Morgen Baird Making Xfinity Series Debut with JD Motorsports at Richmond
31-year-old racer Morgen Baird will make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut this weekend at Richmond Raceway in the No. 6 Chevrolet Camaro for JD Motorsports. Baird will carry primary sponsorship from Long Drink.
“I’ve always dreamed of competing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series,” said Baird. “To have this opportunity with JD Motorsports and to represent Long Drink is a dream come true. I’m grateful for the chance to showcase what I can do on such a prestigious stage.”
Baird is a well-known local racer in the Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio areas.

Rain Ruins The Race: ARCA Menards Series West Race At Irwindale Postponed To July 6th
Rain, rain, go away. An unfavorable weather forecast for this weekend has forced the ARCA Menards Series West to postpone the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 presented by NAPA Auto Parts, which was scheduled for Saturday evening.
The race will be moved to July 6. With ARCA West already scheduled to run again at Irwindale on July 4th, they will now run a double-header at the iconic short track that weekend.
