TC Daily Pit Stop: Riley Herbst to Run Daytona 500 for Ware; Armani Williams, MBM Team up for ARCA at Daytona; Chase Elliott Enters Clyde Hart Memorial; Saturday's TV Schedule
TC Daily Pit Stop: Saturday, February 3rd, 2024
Riley Herbst, who scored a top-10 finish in last year’s Daytona 500, will return to the Great American Race in 2024 as the driver of the No. 15 Rick Ware Racing Ford Mustang. Herbst will carry primary sponsorship from Monster Energy in the event.
The 24-year-old driver scored two top-10 finishes in four NASCAR Cup Series starts a season ago.
“I’ve grown a lot as a racecar driver, especially this past year,” Herbst said. “I put in the work and try to maximize every opportunity, and I feel like last year that hard work and determination paid off. We were really strong at the end of the year. We never finished lower than fourth in our last five Xfinity Series races. I didn’t want the season to end. I’ve kind of been chomping at the bit to get this year started, so to be able to get back to Daytona and run the 500 is something I’m definitely looking forward to.”
Chase Elliott, the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion, has officially filed an entry to run the Clyde Hart Memorial at New Smyrna Speedway. The event will take place on February 13, and will mark the first event of the 2024 ASA STARS National Tour season.
William Byron, Elliott’s HMS teammate, has taken the win in the last two editions of the Clyde Hart Memorial. Elliott will look to score the win this year.
The entry list for the ARCA Menards Series season-opener at Daytona International Speedway just continues to grow. We are now up to 50 entries for the race with Friday’s addition of Armani Williams and the No. 13 MBM Motorsports team.
“We are proud to head back into the ARCA garage. Armani has a story to
share. MBM is here to give this young man some valuable Daytona experience with the draft,” team owner Carl Long stated.
Williams will pilot the No. 13 BlueSprig Toyota Camry in the event.
It’s Saturday, which means we have cars scheduled to go on track as it is Busch Light Clash practice day at the LA Memorial Coliseum. Here is the full TV schedule for Saturday, February 3:
