Shane Van Gisbergen Finally Breaks Through At COTA With O’Reilly Win
It was bizarre that, for whatever reason, Shane van Gisbergen hadn’t found a way to win at Circuit of the Americas. That is, until this weekend. On Saturday, Shane van Gisbergen exorcised his demons at the 2.4-mile 20-turn road course in Austin, Texas, and took a decisive win over Austin Hill in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Focused Health 250.
“Yeah, good to finally execute, we had an awesome day,” van Gisbergen said. “Thank you to SafetyCulture and JR Motorsports. The pit crew was awesome, you know, the strategy worked out well.”
Van Gisbergen continued, “What an awesome day, glad to finally win here. Hopefully, we can have a good day tomorrow.”
Sammy Smith finished the race in third while Jesse Love and Corey Day, who angered Connor Zilisch with a late-race dustup, finished fifth.

Riggs Holds Off Challenge From Majeski, Rhodes to Win At St. Petersburg
Starting from the 28th position, the expectations weren’t ultra-high for Layne Riggs in the first-ever NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series street race at St. Petersburg. However, the driver of the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford F-150 drove his way through the field and held control of the race in the closing laps.
However, Riggs would have to manage a dwindling fuel load and two hungry drivers (Ty Majeski and Ben Rhodes) behind him. He’d pull it off, and in doing so, Riggs took his first win of the 2026 season and his sixth career Truck Series win.
“First thing I’m going to say is thank you to Joey Hand, my road course guy. He’s the man; we’ve been working on this racetrack on the simulator at Ford Racing since December,” Riggs said in his post-race interview on FOX. “I really wanted to get my first win on a road course. The short track guy from Bahama, North Carolina, won at St. Pete, can you believe it?”
