While they didn’t end up in Victory Lane at the end of the event, RFK Racing had a stellar showing in Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway, with Chris Buescher finishing second, Ryan Preece coming home ninth and Brad Keselowski rounding out the top-10.

It’s the first time in nine years, since 2016, that RFK Racing has placed three of its entries inside the top-10 in a NASCAR Cup Series event.

Ty Gibbs Collects Season-Best Third-Place Result at Michigan

After the first half of the regular season that Ty Gibbs has had, a third-place finish at Michigan International Speedway should probably feel (at least) adjacent to a victory.

In the situation that Gibbs is currently in (being 27th in points entering Sunday’s event at Michigan), an actual victory is the only thing that will lock the driver of the No. 54 Toyota Camry XSE into the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.

So, although Sunday’s result matched a season-best from Bristol Motor Speedway, the 22-year-old driver remains frustrated, as he continues to search for his first NASCAR Cup Series win, 102 starts into his tenure with Joe Gibbs Racing.
