TC Daily Pit Stop: Rackley WAR Drops Matt DiBenedetto With Three Races Remaining in Season; Erik Jones Sporting Dallas Vs. Everybody Scheme at Texas; Sammy Smith Lands Pringles Sponsorship
TC Daily Pit Stop: Wednesday, September 20th, 2023
On Tuesday, Rackley WAR made the shocking announcement that the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team will part ways with Matt DiBenedetto three races early. The team says an announcement on a replacement driver for its No. 25 truck will be coming down the road.
DiBenedetto, who made the Playoffs this season, and then announced that he would be leaving the team at season’s end, says he is hurt by the decision.
“No words can express the disappointment I’m feeling right now and also not being able to finish the season out,” DiBenedetto posted on X. “I really want to thank my fans for always being there for me, it means the world to me and I’ll always be there for you. Thank you NASCAR and Craftsman for such an awesome series that I love competing in with all my heart! Working on 2024 and will update you all soon!”
Erik Jones, and the No. 43 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB team will sport a new look this weekend in the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway, as the Vs. Everybody Brand will bring a silver, white and navy blue paint scheme to the car and will feature the Dallas Vs. Everybody branding on the hood.
“We are excited to welcome Vs. Everybody® on board as our primary partner this weekend,” said Jones. “The brand was created out of pride for the city of Detroit, which means a lot to me personally. Being from Michigan, and being a fan of the Lions, I have a Detroit Vs. Everybody® shirt, and it’s cool to introduce this brand into the Dallas market. Tying it to my foundation makes it even more special.”
Sammy Smith will have a paint scheme that pops for the NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Martinsville Speedway next month. Pringles, an iconic potato crisp brand, will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Supra.
The sponsorship is in partnership with Pilot Flying J, a longtime partner of Smith’s racing career. Pilot Flying J will run special Pringles promotions along with the sponsorship.
