Erik Jones: Pointing Into Playoffs ‘Number One Goal’ for No. 43 Team
Erik Jones and the No. 43 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB team have been on quite a charge as of late. Eight races ago, Jones ranked 30th in the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings. After a fifth-place result in last week’s event at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Jones has climbed 14 spots as he sits tied for the 15th spot in the NASCAR Cup Series standings with Austin Cindric.
With the newfound momentum, Jones says there is one goal on the mind of the No. 43 team — pointing into the Playoffs.
“We’ve been on a great roll, tons of momentum,” Jones said. “It’s easy to look at it right now and say it’s going to keep going, but you don’t know how things ebb and flow. Pointing our way in is the number one goal, but we’re banking hard on a couple of races that we can win too.”
