NY Racing Returning to NASCAR Cup Series Action at Pocono Raceway
NY Racing, which fields the No. 44 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 on a part-time basis in the NASCAR Cup Series is set to return to the track next weekend at Pocono Raceway with driver JJ Yeley behind the wheel.
John Cohen, NY Racing’s team owner, confirmed the team’s plans to TobyChristie.com. Pocono will mark the fourth attempt of the 2024 season for the NY Racing team.
NY Racing narrowly missed out on making the Daytona 500 in a last-lap battle with Jimmie Johnson in the Duel Qualifiers. The team then started the third race of the season at Las Vegas, where they finished 34th, and the Coca-Cola 600 where they finished 40th after retiring with steering issues on Lap 114.

Joey Hand Aiming to Help RFK Racing, Ford with Strong Run at Chicago
Joey Hand is amped up and ready to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series Street Race at the Chicago Street Course this weekend in the No. 60 RFK Racing #Stage60 entry. In what will be his first NASCAR Cup Series start since the 2022 season, Hand, a longtime Factory Ford sports car racer, is quite confident as he has a lot of street course experience in his career.
“I love street racing. I say it all the time. Obviously, I love racing, but street races are just another kind of beast,” Hand said. “People aren’t used to it and it’s one of those things where you run road courses where you have your limit is ‘I’ll put a wheel off in the dirt or gravel’, or at COTA it’s just off the other end of the curb and there’s no big repercussions necessarily, so with the street course it just tightens up your limits. That’s all. I think there is definitely something to be said for those who have done a lot of street racing. Fortunately, I’ve done a lot of them.”
Hand hopes to be able to help RFK Racing improve their overall program in his stint behind the wheel.
