No Penalties Coming for Austin Cindric; NASCAR Cites ‘Hard Racing’ in Tangle with Austin Dillon
Austin Dillon had called for Austin Cindric to be suspended after he felt he was intentionally hooked by Cindric in Sunday’s Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway. After reviewing the SMT data and video evidence, NASCAR has decided to take no action against Cindric.
“Looking back at that incident, we haven’t seen anything that really would rise to a level that would be a suspension or a penalty,” said Elton Sawyer. “It looked like hard racing, one car coming up a bit, another car going down.”

Brent Sherman to Make First NASCAR National Series Start Since 2009 in Xfinity Race at Chicago Street Course
Brent Sherman hasn’t competed in a NASCAR National Series event since the 2009 season, but he is set to make his return 14 years after his last start. Sherman will pilot the No. 28 RSS Racing entry in the upcoming NASCAR Xfinity Series Loop 121 at the Chicago Street Course event.
“This opportunity just fell into place,” said Sherman. “When the street race was announced, I knew I wanted to explore the chance to get back in a race car. I can’t thank RSS Racing enough for the opportunity to compete in the No. 28. I know I’ll have some challenges with the temperature in Chicago during the summer months, but I’m up for the challenge and have been training to be prepared for it.”

Kamui Kobayashi Making Cup Series Debut at Indianapolis for 23XI Racing
Big news from 23XI Racing as Kamui Kobayashi, a full-time competitor in the FIA World Endurance Championship, will make his NASCAR Cup Series debut at the Indianpolis Motor Speedway Road Course in the team’s part-time third No. 67 entry.
The 36-year-old racer will carry sponsorship from Toyota Genuine Parts in the event. The No. 67 23XI Racing team competed with Travis Pastrana in the season-opening Daytona 500, where Pastrana finished 11th.
