When the pay window opened up in Friday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Rev Racing’s Nick Sanchez was there to collect. The 22-year-old driver took the race win and in doing so took home the $50,000 Triple Truck Challenge bonus.
Sanchez defended against Corey Heim, who had led 72 of the race’s 134 laps, for the win. But in the end, Heim would be DQed from the runner-up position when his truck was discovered to have three lug nuts unsecured in post-race inspection.
On fresh tires following the final pit stop, Sanchez emerged as the fastest truck on the final run of the race.
