‘Just a Miss All Around’: 23XI Racing Suffers Rough Outing at New Hampshire
23XI Racing came into last Sunday’s Mobil 1 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with high hopes. However, those hopes weren’t realized after a trying afternoon at the 1.058-mile speedway.
Tyler Reddick suffered from brake issues all race long, and limped his way to a 21st-place finish, while Bubba Wallace struggled mightily with raw speed all race, and came home with a subpar 26th-place result.
“Just a miss all around, really,” Wallace stated. “We couldn’t really seem to get things going. Our best run lasted for five laps, the caution came out, and then it was just right back to no good. I hate it. I felt really optimistic and marched forward at the start, and it just never really went anywhere. We kind of plateaued [on] Lap 5, and that was it. I hate that.”
Heading into the second race of the Round of 12 of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, the 23XI Racing teammates find themselves at the bottom of the Playoff Grid and are very much in danger of being eliminated this round.
However, they are heading to Kansas Speedway, a track that 23XI Racing has won at three times. That being said, Reddick isn’t resting on his laurels as the team has not consistently brought speed to the tracks they’ve been good at, previously, this season.
“Yeah, there’s just a lot of question marks, honestly. Places we have had speed at, we don’t bring speed,” Reddick said after the disappointing day. “That’s been one of them for us. Yeah, we need something special to happen. I’m hoping we find the answer.”
Will 23XI Racing find the answer this week?
