NASCAR’s Injunction Appeal Heard; Court Suggests Mediation
On Friday, NASCAR and 23XI Racing met in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in Richmond, Virginia, as NASCAR is appealing an injunction awarded to 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports in December 2024.
Chris Yates, NASCAR’s lead attorney, suggested the injunction, which allowed 23XI and FRM to compete as Chartered entries in 2025 while the court case is taking shape, suggested the sanctioning body and other 32 Chartered teams are suffering every day the injunction remains in place.
Jeffrey Kessler, the lead attorney for the teams, suggested that his clients would suffer irreparable harm if the injunction is lifted, and they are no longer considered Chartered teams. Both teams have drivers and sponsors who have clauses in their contracts that allow them to leave if the teams are not Chartered.
Toward the end of the intense exchanges, the court suggested that the sanctioning body and teams exercise mediation to settle their differences.

Stenhouse Achieves Full-Circle Moment at Guinness World Record Event
Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who says he thumbed through the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records as a youth, had a full-circle moment on Tuesday, as he was part of a Guinness World Record ceremony for RPM Raceway in Farmingdale, NY.
The track, which officially measured 3,515.7 feet in length, became the world record holder for the longest indoor multi-level go-kart track. The record was certified by Andrew Glass, a Guinness World Records adjudicator.
Stenhouse got to cut some laps on the circuit, and he admitted the length of the track made things quite tricky.
"Man, [the track] was so long. I don't know how many laps I made, but I still have no idea kind of what corner is coming up next," Stenhouse said in an exclusive interview with Racing America On SI. "But there were some cool sections, and it was a fun event."
