NASCAR fines Matt Crafton, Nick Sanchez; Suspends Rene Sanchez for Talladega Fight
On Tuesday, NASCAR issues its post-race penalties from Talladega Superspeedway, including monetary fines to both Nick Sanchez and Matt Crafton, stemming from a post-race altercation in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series garage on Saturday.
Both drivers have been fined for violating section 4.3. A and 4.4 D of the NASCAR Rule Book, which pertains to the NASCAR Member Conduct and NASCAR Member Code of Conduct. For his role in the scuffle, Crafton has been fined $25,000 while Sanchez has been fined $5,000.
Rene Sanchez, the father of Nick Sanchez, has been suspended from NASCAR-sanctioned events for the remainder of the 2024 season.

Iowa Speedway to Host NASCAR Cup, Xfinity Series Events in 2024
Iowa Speedway, a 0.875-mile oval located in Newton, Iowa, is set to have NASCAR on its schedule of events once again, with the announcement on Tuesday that both the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series will return in June 2024.
Kim Reynolds, Governor of Iowa, made the announcement of NASCAR’s return to the state of Iowa, via a press conference on Tuesday, October 3rd. Jordan Bianchi and Jeff Gluck of The Athletic first reported the news on Monday.
The first-ever NASCAR Cup Series event at Iowa Speedway will take place on Sunday, June 16th, 2024 at 6:00 PM CT on USA Network, the final event of what will be an action-packed weekend of racing in Iowa.

Report: Erebus Motorsports Planning to Run Some NASCAR Races in 2024 With Brodie Kostecki
Erebus Motorsports, which fields an Australian Super Cars entry for Brodie Kostecki, has plans to field a NASCAR entry in some events in 2024 for the driver according to an exclusive interview from AutoAction with team CEO Barry Ryan.
The team reportedly will lean on its relationship with Richard Childress Racing, and is simply waiting for the 2024 schedules to see when the calendars align to make its official NASCAR schedule.
Kostecki had a solid NASCAR Cup Series debut in the No. 33 Richard Childress Racing entry at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course earlier this season. Ryan told AutoAction that continuing to forge the relationship with RCR just makes sense for all parties involved.

Notable entries include the Andy Lally in the No. 15 Rick Ware Racing entry, Mike Rockenfeller in the No. 42 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB entry, JJ Yeley in the No. 51 Rick Ware Racing entry, Austin Hill in the No. 62 Beard Motorsports entry, and Josh Bilicki in the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports entry.

There are 42 cars [for 38 spots] on the preliminary entry list for Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Drive for the Cure 250 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL.
A new team, the No. 87 Peterson Racing Group team, is also listed on the entry list with driver Andy Lally. The team will field a Chevrolet Camaro for the race. The crew chief for the entry is Christopher Measaner.
There are a plethora of other notable entries for the event, which is usually the case for road races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
