McDowell replaces Zane Smith, who was on a one-year loan from Trackhouse Racing, and will take over the driving duties of the organization’s third entry, debuted this season after Spire Motorsports purchased the charter from Live Fast Motorsports.

The announcement came just hours after Front Row Motorsports confirmed that McDowell would vacate the No. 34 Ford Mustang at season’s end.

ThorSport Swaps Crew Chiefs, Engineering Leads for Rhodes and Garcia
For the second straight year, Ben Rhodes will be split from Rich Lushes, the crew chief in which he captured both of his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series titles, with the announcement Thursday that ThorSport Racing would make a change.
Lushes will be transferred to the No. 13 Ford F-150, along with his engineering lead, working with Jake Garcia. Doug Randolph and his engineering lead will take over operations for Ben Rhodes and the No. 99 Ford F-150.
It’s been a difficult start to the year for both Rhodes and Garcia, neither of which have managed to score a top-five result in the opening eight NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events of 2024. Rhodes sits 12th in points, while Garcia is 15th.
