Majeski Goes Back to Back, Eckes Secures Regular Season Title at Richmond
Although three weeks apart, Ty Majeski has gone back-to-back in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, winning Saturday’s Clean Harbors 250 at Richmond Raceway.
Majeski led 70 of the race’s 250 laps en-route to his second win of the season, and fifth of his NASCAR Truck Series career. The ThorSport Racing driver managed to make the pass for the victory with eight laps remaining in the event, passing CR7 Motorsports driver Grant Enfinger for the top spot on a late-race restart.
The win seeds Majeski third in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs, behind five-time winner Corey Heim and regular-season champion Christian Eckes.
Christian Eckes was able to drive through the traffic to claim a runner-up finish in the No. 19, his fifth consecutive finish inside the top-three, dating all the way back to World Wide Technology Raceway in June.
Taylor Gray was third, with Grant Enfinger and Layne Riggs rounding out the top-five. Tyler Ankrum, Ben Rhodes, Daniel Dye, Ty Dillon, and NASCAR Truck Series debutant Connor Hall rounding out the top-10.
With an eighth-place result versus a 12th for Tanner Gray, Daniel Dye was able to qualify for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series post-season.

Denny Hamlin Earns 43rd Career Pole at Richmond Raceway
In the first round of Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series qualifying session at Richmond Raceway, Denny Hamlin barely went fast enough to advance. That doesn’t matter now, though, after a stellar second lap put the Joe Gibbs Racing driver on pole.
Behind the wheel of the No. 11 FedEx Cares Toyota Camry XSE, Hamlin posted a lap time of 22.850 seconds (118.162mph) to capture the pole position for Sunday’s Cook Out 400 at the three-quarter-mile Richmond Raceway.
Of the 10 drivers that advanced to the second round of qualifying, Hamlin was the only driver able to improve upon his time from the first round, picking up just 0.008 seconds. With everybody else dropping off significantly, that allowed the No. 11 to stay on top.
Martin Truex, Jr., Josh Berry, Chase Elliott, Christopher Bell, Austin Dillon, Chris Buescher, Bubba Wallace, Joey Logano, and Tyler Reddick round out the top-10.

Reif Doubles Down, Sneaks Win Away At Tri-City Raceway
It was back-to-back for Tyler Reif and the Central Coast Racing team as he took home the trophy at Tri-City Raceway in the NAPA Auto Parts 150.
Reif was able to sneak the win away from second place in points Sean Hingorani after a late race restart with 18 laps to go after the No. 6 machine of Jess Haven’s spun.
“The laps were counting down faster, and faster and faster. The no cautions were surprising me for the first 75. We knew what we had to do the last 75. Practiced the outside a little bit this weekend and it definitely paid off again,” the Henderson, NV native said post-race. “It’s definitely the most tiring race track I’ve been to but one of the most fun,” he added.
Jack Wood was third, with Todd Souza and Kyle Keller rounding out the top-five.

Kyle Busch: Wrist Injury Would Have Led to Missed Races Without Olympic Break
Kyle Busch, who is winless through the opening 22 races of the 2024 season, will roll from the 12th position on the starting grid in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway as he tries to extend his consecutive seasons with a NASCAR Cup Series win streak to 20 years.
However, Busch, who has had a very tumultuous season by his standards, noticeably had his wrist wrapped as he entered his post-qualifying media availability at Richmond Raceway on Saturday. According to the Richard Childress Racing driver, he sustained an injury to his left wrist in a crash on Lap 158 in the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
“Sprained it,” Busch said of his wrapped wrist. Busch continued by explaining, “These great NextGen race cars, snap your wheel, and you snap your wrist.”
