TC Daily Pit Stop: Layne Riggs Rebounds From First Lap Spin to Take Dominant Truck Win at Bristol

Dominant Bristol Win By Layne Riggs Leaves First-Lap Spin Forgotten
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoff contender Layne Riggs came into Thursday night’s UNOH 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway with high hopes, as he won this event a season ago. However, on the race’s opening lap, Riggs was sent spinning from the seventh position after contact from Corey Day.
While Riggs could have seen his confidence deflate with the opening-lap incident, there was simply no keeping the Front Row Motorsports driver down on Thursday evening.
Riggs would climb from 36th to finish ninth in Stage 1, and would go on to fight Corey Heim for the win in Stage 2. He would miss out on the Stage Win, but it became very clear that Riggs had a truck capable of contending for the win.
A strong effort on pit road by the No. 34 team got Riggs the lead to start the race’s final Stage, and he’d never look back as he led the final 110 laps to take his third win of the 2025 season, and fifth win of his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series career, which matches the career wins mark of his father, Scott Riggs, in the series.
Riggs would hold off Ben Rhodes to win by a margin of 0.759 seconds, while Heim would collect a third-place finish.
