TC Daily Pit Stop: Layne Riggs Joins Front Row Motorsports; SVG Running ARCA at Daytona; Hooters Unveils 2024 Paint Scheme for Chase Elliott
TC Daily Pit Stop: Saturday, December 16th, 2023
Layne Riggs has been selected by Front Row Motorsports as the team’s newest development driver, and starting in 2024, will compete full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in the No. 38 Ford F-150.
Riggs has spent the last couple of years competing in NASCAR’s National Series looking for a shot at a full-time ride, an opportunity he’s found through several breakout runs in the NASCAR Xfinity and NASCAR Truck Series.
“I’m really thankful for this opportunity to compete full-time in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series with one of the best teams in the sport,” said Riggs. “I’ve dedicated my life for an opportunity like this, and I’m incredibly appreciative of Bob (Jenkins) and everyone at Front Row for providing me the opportunity to take my next step in my racing career.”
Shane van Gisbergen will compete in the ARCA Menards Series season-opener at Daytona International Speedway, Ty Norris, President of Trackhouse Racing, confirmed via SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Friday.
The 34-year-old driver will be required to compete in the race, as he looks to get approved to run a full-season schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, in which he’ll drive the No. 97 for Kaulig Racing.
Norris mentions that Van Gisbergen, a three-time Supercars champion, will likely run the January test for the ARCA Menards Series at Daytona, as well, before the race, to gain extra on-track experience.
Chase Elliott will have a brand-new design on board his No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro in three NASCAR Cup Series events in 2024, thanks to a Friday paint scheme reveal from long-time partner Hooters.
The restaurant franchise, which has built a substantial legacy as a primary sponsor of various NASCAR Cup Series operations over the last three-plus decades, will debut its primarily orange and black paint scheme at Atlanta Motor Speedway (February 25).
Hooters will then return as a primary partner of NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver at Texas Motor Speedway (April 14) and the second event at Richmond Raceway (August 11).
