TC Daily Pit Stop: Larson Outlasts the Competition for Homestead-Miami Victory; Who Leads the Weekly Power Rankings?

He didn’t dominate Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In fact, Kyle Larson made several errors throughout the event, and the right side of his car showed evidence of that following the 267-lap race.

But in the closing laps, Larson was as perfect as he needed to be as he outdueled Alex Bowman, his Hendrick Motorsports teammate, for the race win.

“It was far from perfect. I gave up a spot and a half, almost two spots there by getting in the wall too many times,” Larson said about his performance. “I knew I wasn’t going to get the best restart there. I knew I wasn’t good on the short runs and just thought if I could hold of [Hamlin] and [Reddick] behind me, I could get ringing the top, and the No. 19 too. Then I got in the wall and let him by.”

Bowman held on to the second position, while Bubba Wallace came home an impressive third on Sunday afternoon.

With a win this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Kyle Larson is on the rise in the weekly Racing America On SI Power Rankings as he gained three spots, but is that enough to place him at the top of the rankings? Or is another Hendrick Motorsports driver above him?

Bubba Wallace, Chase Briscoe, and Justin Haley all jumped up the most spots (six) this week while Carson Hocevar fell the furthest (eight spots).
