Xfinity Newcomer Austin Green Earns Impressive Fourth-Place Result at Sonoma
Austin Green, who announced he would be dipping his toes into the NASCAR Xfinity Series in the offseason, has smashed any expectations that anyone could have placed upon him.
The son of 1994 NASCAR Busch Series champion David Green has started his NASCAR Xfinity Series career off with three-consecutive top-15 finishes in the No. 32 Jordan Anderson Racing Chevrolet, and his latest run was especially eye-opening, as he came home a career-best fourth at Sonoma Raceway.
“We didn’t get the qualifying spot that we like, so I definitely need to work on that,” Green said after the race. “Just had to pick them off and it was a long race, so keep the nose on it and hats off to everybody at Jordan Anderson Racing. The [No. 32] was on rails today. We kind of struggled on the short runs, so I was thankful a caution didn’t come out there at the end, but it was awesome.”

Toby’s Take: Fine Details Matter; Time for Kyle Busch to Take the Gloves Off
For the second consecutive week, a race-win contending driver ran out of fuel on the final lap of the race. At Gateway, Ryan Blaney ran out of fuel coming off of Turn 4 coming to the white flag as the race leader. On Sunday, at Sonoma Raceway, Martin Truex Jr. did the same on the final lap while running second.
Fine details are proving to mean a whole lot over the last few weeks.
Also, Kyle Busch got bullied again, this time by Ross Chastain on the final lap of Sunday’s race. It feels like it’s past time for Busch to stand up for himself.

Hoker Trucking Partners with Patrick Emerling, SS-GreenLight Racing at Iowa
Patrick Emerling and the No. 07 SS-GreenLight Racing team will have yet another new primary sponsorship partner this weekend at Iowa Speedway. Hoker Trucking will bring it’s blue and white colors to the No. 07 NASCAR Xfinity Series entry this weekend.
“I’m stoked to be able to race at Iowa this weekend in front of a sold-out crowd! It’s a cool track, and with my roots in modified racing, I love short tracks,” said Emerling. “I have a great partner this weekend in Hoker Trucking. They’re big supporters of local racing, so it’s exciting to bring them into the top tiers of NASCAR.”
Kyle Busch has done plenty of “bullying” on the track during his career - now that others give home some of the same treatment it’s a different matter.
