Corey LaJoie, Spire Motorsports Reach Multi-Year Contract Extension
Corey LaJoie and Spire Motorsports have agreed to a multi-year contract extension, which will see the 31-year-old driver remain the pilot of the No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Cup Series for the foreseeable future.
LaJoie, a journeyman driver who has spent the last seven seasons competing in the NASCAR Cup Series for various organizations, first joined Spire Motorsports in 2021, and has vastly improved the organization’s overall performance, sitting on an average finish three positions higher than any previous season.
There were no terms disclosed in the team’s official announcement on Wednesday.

Shane Van Gisbergen Joins Niece Motorsports for Oval Debut at IRP
With his intentions set on moving to NASCAR in 2024, Shane Van Gisbergen is set to make the most of his second trip to the United States, getting some oval experience during the same weekend at the Verizon 200 at Indy’s Road Course.
The three-time Supercars champion will make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, driving the No. 41 Chevrolet Silverado for Niece Motorsports.
Worldwide Express will remain a sponsor of the No. 41, while the sponsors slated to be on Van Gisbergen’s NASCAR Cup Series entry, Embrace Health and Quad Lock, will serve as associate sponsors of the effort.

NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductees Announced for Class of 2024
Jimmie Johnson, Chad Knaus, and Donnie Allison have been announced as the three inductees into the NASCAR Hall of Fame for the Class of 2024, NASCAR announced on Wednesday.
Johnson, a seven-time champion of the NASCAR Cup Series and co-owner of LEGACY MOTOR CLUB, received 93% of the votes, which means four people didn’t list him on their ballots. Chad Knaus, who worked with Johnson for much of his career, earned 81% of the votes.
Donnie Allison earned 53% of the votes on the Pioneer Ballot, with Banjo Matthews earning the runner-up spot.
Janet Guthrie, the first woman to compete in the Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500, won the Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR.

Paul Tracy Not Returning to SRX in 2023, After Series’ First-Ever Driver Suspension
Paul Tracy will not return to the Superstar Racing Experience in 2023, following the series’ first-ever driver suspension last week, CEO Don Hawk confirmed on Wednesday.
“It won’t be this year,” Hawk said about Tracy’s potential return to SRX. “Later today, I’ll be making some decisions as far as who gets in that car for Eldora and who gets in there for Lucas Oil Speedway. Paul will not be returning the balance of the year.”
Johnny Benson will serve as the replacement for Tracy in Thursday’s event at Berlin Raceway.

Ross Chastain Returns to Kaulig Racing for Xfinity Series Race at Michigan
For the first-time since the season-finale of the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, Ross Chastain will return to Kaulig Racing, competing in Saturday’s Cabo Wabo 250 for the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Michigan International Speedway.
Chastain will pilot the No. 10 Chevrolet Camaro, with primary sponsorship from Jockey, who will also serve as primary sponsor of his NASCAR Cup Series entry in Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400.

Brennan Poole, a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series driver and sour-candy connoisseur, has picked up sponsorship from Toxic Waste Hazardously Sour Candy for the August 12 event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s Road Course.
Through parent company Candy Dynamics, Poole will have the popular candy brand’s green and yellow colors adorn the No. 6 Chevrolet Camaro in the Pennzoil 150, which serves as a hometown race for the company, based in Indianapolis.
