After years of clawing for opportunities, Kyle Weatherman will finally get the chance to run a full-time schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2024 as he will pilot the No. 91 Chevrolet Camaro for DGM Racing.
“I can’t express how grateful I am for the opportunity to run DGM Racing’s No. 91 full-time next year!” Weatherman said in a press release. “The men and women at DGM put their all into racing, and I am happy to call this team home for the next 33 races. We’ve had a lot of great runs together, and I’m confident we will carry that momentum into next season.”
DriveSmart, which sponsored Weatherman at Texas Motor Speedway, will serve as the anchor partner for Weatherman and the No. 91 team in 2024.
Halmar Friesen Racing announced some key hires within the organization on Tuesday. Jimmy Villeneuve, who served as the crew chief for Chase Purdy at Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2023, will serve as the crew chief for Stewart Friesen and the No. 52 team in 2024.
Additionally, the team has added Dustin Dunn as the race engineer. Dunn, like Villeneuve, comes from the KBM team.
The team also has brought in Tim Packman as the commercial and communications director.
Live Fast Motorsports, which is set to compete part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2024 after selling its team Charter to Spire Motorsports, has announced that Matt Tifft has officially departed the team’s ownership group.
Live Fast co-owner BJ McLeod made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.
“Live Fast will operate just as it has,” McLeod said. “Matt is going to move on and pursue other opportunities that he has on his side, so it will just be myself, Jessica and Joe [Falk] on the Live Fast side. Everything on the appearance side will remain the same.”
Tifft issued a statement on his personal X account following the announcement, and based on the wording of the statement, it appears Tifft is nearing a return to getting behind the wheel competitively.
The ARCA Menards Series silly season is in full swing. On Tuesday evening, Venturini Motorsports announced that it has added Kris Wright to the team’s full-time driver roster for the 2024 ARCA Menards Series season.
Wright will pilot the No. 15 Toyota Camry for the team with sponsorship backing from F.N.B. Corporation.
