Kyle Larson Gets Redemption for Thwarted ‘Double’ with Brickyard 400 Win
It’s quite profound that Kyle Larson, who made a widely publicized attempt at running the Indianapolis 500 in May, is the NASCAR Cup Series driver fortunate enough to be celebrating a victory in the return of the Brickyard 400.
With the victory, Larson was not only successful in bringing Hendrick Motorsports to Victory Lane at Indianapolis but also NTT IndyCar Series team McLaren, who he carried on board the No. 5 Chevrolet with a splash of the team’s signature papaya color.
“It’s for sure up there. This is just such a prestigious place, such hallowed ground. Pretty neat to get an opportunity to race here on the oval again,” said Kyle Larson. “What a job by our team. I mean, never gave up at all. We had the pit stop issue there early on. Just fought and dug and had things work out.”

Video: MASSIVE Crash Erupts in Turn 1 on Brickyard 400 Overtime Attempt
A massive crash ensued on an overtime restart attempt as the field was heading into Turn 1 in Sunday’s Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Several top contenders, including Denny Hamlin, and Chase Briscoe were heavily involved, and the race was put under the red flag for cleanup.
As the race was about to go back to green, race leader Brad Keselowski peeled off the track onto pit road due to his fuel tank sputtering. This allowed Kyle Larson to speed up in the bottom lane to get lined up with Ryan Blaney, the new race leader. As they were coming to the green flag, other cars began running out of fuel.

‘I Did Exactly What the F***ing Sheet Said’ Chase Elliott Irate After Being Hit with Blend Line Violation
With Chase Elliott in a tight battle for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series regular-season championship, a pit road penalty was costly in collecting the points needed for the No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports team.
It wasn’t ON pit road persay, but leaving pit road, as Elliott went above the second yellow line between the first and second corners on the access road, going onto the racing surface — which is against NASCAR rules.
Granted, Elliott wasn’t pleased with the ruling, saying he followed the sheet that NASCAR gave drivers on Saturday: “That’s not right. I did exactly what the fucking sheet said to do,” Elliott fired to crew chief Alan Gustafson.
Elliott continued, “I mean what the fuck? [inaudible] Do exactly what they fucking tell us to do. They didn’t say line, they said racing surface, so you tell me how the fuck I was on the racing surface.”
