Kyle Larson Holds Off Tyler Reddick for Third Las Vegas Victory
Kyle Larson was dominant in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as he led a race-high 181 laps and swept Stages 1 and 2. However, Larson had to endure a late-race charge from Tyler Reddick on his path to a third career win at Las Vegas, and his first win of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.
“I knew Tyler was going to be the guy to beat from the first stage. He was really fast there. I was hoping those guys were going to get racing a little bit longer behind me because I felt like it was going to time out where he was running really hard and getting the tow to catch me at the end,” said Larson post-race. “Thankfully was able to air-block him a couple laps and get him tight. I thought him and Bubba were going to get working together again to build a run, so I was happy that didn’t happen.”
Defending series champion Ryan Blaney came home in third, and he was followed by Ross Chastain and Ty Gibbs in the running order.

Noah Gragson Records Sixth-Place Finish in Hard-Fought Las Vegas Race
Noah Gragson admittedly drove his car like a, “Sissy,” in qualifying and ended up with a 30th-place starting spot with a car that was second-fastest in NASCAR Cup Series practice at Las Vegas.
The driver and his No. 10 Stewart-Haas Racing team buckled down and methodically marched through the field all race long, and in the closing laps the Las Vegas native had a legitimate shot at a top-five finish.
In the end, Gragson ended up sixth, marking his second top-10 finish of the season. The momentum that Gragson is building is key as he and his team are looking to overcome a 35-point L1 penalty issued post-Atlanta.
“We’re gonna take this and get back into the positives in points and just keep on working, keep on learning and becoming better than we were yesterday, and just keep that attitude,” Gragson said. “I think we’ve got the tightest group in the garage. They’re awesome to work with and I love every one of them.”
