Jonathan Davenport Steals SRX Show at Lucas Oil Speedway; Newman Runs Away with Championship
You have to give Clint Bowyer an A for effort, as he attempted a late-race slidejob on Jonathan Davenport with 10 laps left in Thursday night’s Camping World SRX Series season finale at Lucas Oil Speedway, but Davenport was simply too good. The 39-year-old dirt racing legend took the win in his debut start in the series.
Brad Keselowski would wind up second in the race, Ken Schrader finished third, and Ryan Newman and Bowyer rounded out the top-five finishers.
Newman locked up the 2023 Camping World SRX Series championship after Heat 1, where he finished eighth, two spots ahead of Tony Stewart — the only other driver who had a mathematical chance of winning the title on Thursday night.

Austin Hill to Return to RCR Racing Xfinity Program in Multi-Year Extension
While there has been a lot of speculation that Austin Hill would move to the NASCAR Cup Series full-time in 2024, the 29-year-old racer ended the rumors on Thursday. Richard Childress Racing announced a multi-year contract extension, which will keep Hill behind the wheel of the team’s No. 21 NASCAR Xfinity Series entry in 2024.
Hill, who has four wins and is the point leader in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season, says he has found what he wants with RCR.
“I’ve found a home at Richard Childress Racing and it’s an honor to be able to continue my career racing for one of the most successful organizations in the garage,” said Hill. “In looking at the next step of my career, I was presented with several opportunities, but it all came down to being surrounded by racers who want to win, believe in me, and will do their best to give me every opportunity to be successful. I want to thank Richard Childress and everyone at RCR and ECR Engines. I’m excited to race for wins and championships within the NASCAR Xfinity Series for years to come.”

Dexter Bean Revives BlackJack Racing; Will Pilot No. 21 Truck at Milwaukee
BlackJack Racing is BACK! The race team, which was founded by David Bean after winning a considerable amount of money on a hand of blackjack, has been revived by Dexter Bean.
Bean will pilot the No. 21 Chevrolet Silverado for the team as he attempts to lock into the field for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at The Milwaukee Mile in a couple of weeks. The team will have sponsorship from Badger Environmental & Earthworks, Frontier Property Management, and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 139.
BlackJack Racing has fielded cars in various series of stock car racing, and even made it to the NASCAR Cup Series for a brief stint in 2009.

NASCAR Hands Out Three Indefinite Suspensions For Recent Arrests
On Thursday, NASCAR dished out indefinite suspensions for three members of the industry following recent arrests.
Part-time NASCAR National Series drivers Chris Hacker and Jason White were both arrested this month on charges of Driving While Impaired (DWI). Both drivers have been suspended due to the arrests, and White was also tagged by NASCAR for failing to disclose his arrest to the sanctioning body within the required 72-hour window.
Joel (J.R.) Courage, who had been operating E33 Motorsports LLC, a team that helps grow and develop young drivers working their way up the NASCAR ladder, was arrested by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office Sex Registration Unit on charges of failure to register, falsification of verification notice and failure to return verification form.
