Carson Hocevar Slapped With $50k Fine for Kansas Behavioral Violation
Carson Hocevar has been fined $50,000 by NASCAR for violating Member Conduct Rules during Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. The penalty stems from an incident where Hocevar, after being spun on the backstretch, aggressively spun his tires and revved his engine near safety personnel under caution — behavior NASCAR deemed unsafe and inappropriate.
This marks Hocevar’s third behavioral penalty since joining the NASCAR Cup Series in 2024, bringing his total fines to $150,000 over two seasons. Previous infractions include a $50,000 fine and cultural sensitivity training for derogatory comments made about Mexico City earlier this season, and another $50,000 fine plus a 25-point deduction in 2024 following an altercation with Harrison Burton at Nashville.
As of now, neither Hocevar nor Spire Motorsports has publicly addressed the latest penalty. NASCAR cited Sections 4.4.B and D of the Cup Series Rule Book in levying the fine, reinforcing the sanctioning body’s stance on maintaining safety and conduct standards both on and off the track.

Andy Street Taking Over as Crew Chief for Kyle Busch
Richard Childress Racing has made a leadership change atop the No. 8 pit box, appointing Andy Street as crew chief for Kyle Busch for the final five races of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, beginning this weekend at the Charlotte ROVAL. Randall Burnett, who had served as Busch’s crew chief, will shift into an advisory role at RCR before departing to work with rookie Connor Zilisch at Trackhouse Racing in 2026.
Street brings a proven track record from RCR’s NASCAR Xfinity Series program, where he guided drivers like Austin Hill and Myatt Snider to a combined 11 wins between 2020 and 2024. This year, Street has taken on a part-time crew chiefing role across both Cup and Xfinity races, while also supporting RCR’s technical alliances.
The crew chief change comes amid a difficult season for Busch, who hasn’t won a Cup race since June 2023 and is on pace for one of the least competitive years of his career. With only two top-five finishes — both on road courses — Busch and the No. 8 team hope that a fresh voice on the box can help them regain momentum heading into 2026.
