Corey Heim on Updated Kansas Entry List in Place of Erik Jones
While Erik Jones was initially listed on the preliminary entry list for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway in the No. 43 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB entry, he has been replaced by Corey Heim on an updated entry list from NASCAR on Wednesday.
While Heim is on the updated entry list, LEGACY MOTOR CLUB has yet to make an official announcement for this weekend’s race.
Jones is continuing to recover from a compression fracture in a lower vertebra, an injury he sustained in a hard crash in the final stage of the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Michael McDowell Not Worried After Rough Six-Race Stretch
Michael McDowell and the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports team came into the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season high on optimism. They were coming off of their second Playoff appearance in three seasons in 2023, and they elevated their partnership with Ford Performance in the offseason to further bolster the team’s performance on track.
While the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford Mustang has had a lot more raw speed so far this season, McDowell and his team have struggled through a myriad of ways to collect the finishes they deserve to this point in the season. As a result, McDowell heads into this weekend’s AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway mired 29th in the championship standings.
“It’s no doubt that it’s been a rough few weeks,” McDowell said at a media availability at the NASCAR Productions Facility on Tuesday. “And some of the poor finishes have been my self-inflicted wounds, some of them have been our self-inflicted wounds from a team and preparation and parts standpoint.”

Todd Gilliland Throws it Back to First CARS Tour Win with Darlington Paint Scheme
Todd Gilliland is the latest NASCAR Cup Series driver to reveal their throwback paint scheme for next weekend’s Goodyear 400 during the official Throwback Weekend at Darlington Raceway. Gilliland, and his No. 38 Front Row Motorsports team, will throw it back to the 2015 season as he’ll pilot the paint scheme that he scored his first career CARS Tour race win with at Southern National Motorsports Park.
Then a teenager, Gilliland led three laps in the 150-lap event as he passed Deac McCaskill for the race win.
“It’s really cool, definitely a lot of hard work and sweat had gone into this car,” Gilliland said in a team release. “I was just a 14-year-old kid trying to get experience with the dream to race in the Cup Series and taking it step-by-step. This car makes me think about all the memories made along the way and my journey to Cup and to even race at Darlington for throwback weekend.”

Clayton Green Making Truck Series Debut at North Wilkesboro for Roper Racing
Clayton Green, a former ARCA Menards Series East driver, will attempt to make his first career NASCAR National series start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro Speedway in a couple of weeks. Andretti, who is running his first full season of stock cars between the Craftsman Truck Series and ARCA Menards Series, has six remaining races scheduled in the No. 04, with the next one being Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on July 19.
