Corey Heim Battles Back From Late-Race Adversity for Watkins Glen Win
Once again, Corey Heim and the No. 11 TRICON Garage team were the dominant force in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in Friday’s Mission 176 at The Glen, but it took the 23-year-old driver battling back from some late-race adversity to score his sixth win of the 2025 season.
Varying pit strategies forced Heim to attempt to play catch-up in the final Stage of the race, and under the pressure of trying to work through the field, Heim began to get a bit overzealous. It came to a head when he blew the bus stop, and had to come to a stop on track to avoid a penalty with a few laps to go.
It looked like his shot to win was over.
However, fate intervened, and Heim was saved by a rash of late-race cautions, which allowed him to catch back up, and also forced some drivers ahead of Heim onto pit road as their fuel tanks were running low.
In the end, Heim had to out-duel a hungry Daniel Hemric in a triple-overtime finish to take home the win, and despite Hemric giving him quite the challenge, Heim was able to pull it off.

Shane Van Gisbergen, Trackhouse Racing Reach Multiyear Contract Extension
Shane van Gisbergen has already tied the all-time NASCAR Cup Series rookie record for most wins in a season with three. Now, heading into Sunday’s Go Bowling at The Glen, the driver of the No. 88 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet can breathe even easier.
On Friday afternoon, Trackhouse Racing announced a multiyear contract extension, which will keep the 36-year-old native of New Zealand in Trackhouse Racing equipment in the NASCAR Cup Series for years to come.
“I feel like Trackhouse Racing is my home,” said Van Gisbergen in a team press release. “Trackhouse gave me the opportunity to race at Chicago in 2023. That was just a one-race deal, and everything that has happened since then is because of the chance Justin [Marks] took on me. The men and women at Trackhouse have helped me feel at home in this new challenge, and I’ve been loving every minute of it. We still have a lot of work to do, but I couldn’t be happier.”
