On Wednesday, Joe Gibbs Racing announced that NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year contender Ty Gibbs will sport a He Gets Us primary sponsorship in six races during the 2023 season.
The 2023 partnership, which is the extension of an existing partnership from a season ago, will begin this weekend in the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“I think He Gets Us is a creative way to reach people in today’s world to speak about Jesus,” said Gibbs in a team release. “I think we all face struggles every day and this campaign shares an important message: no matter what we might be going through, we are not alone.”
He Gets Us will serve as a primary sponsor of the No. 54 at Las Vegas, as well as COTA, Dover, Atlanta, New Hampshire, and Pocono.

No. 46 G2G Racing Team Acquires Owner Points From No. 34 Reaume Team

The No. 46 G2G Racing team has acquired owner points by way of an owner point transfer from the No. 34 Reaume Brothers Racing entry. NASCAR confirmed the points transfer to TobyChristie.com on Wednesday.
The point swap will give the No. 46 team a little extra breathing room points-wise as it attempts to qualify for the event at Atlanta Motor Speedway in a couple of weeks.
“As far as the points moving forward, it’s super beneficial to us because it’s 25th in points from last season, so it pretty much locks us in for Atlanta,” Tim Viens, G2G Racing’s co-owner, explained to TobyChristie.com following confirmation of the point transfer.
G2G Racing, which saw its No. 46 truck fail to qualify at Daytona International Speedway, despite showing great speed in practice with Norm Benning piloting the Toyota Tundra, is locked into the show this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway by virtue of 35 trucks being on the entry list. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race field can max out at 36 trucks.

NASCAR issued an update to the entry list for this weekend’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Alsco Uniforms 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Wednesday morning. According to the update, Kyle Weatherman will make his first start of the 2023 season, as he’ll pilot the No. 02 Our Motorsports entry.
TobyChristie.com was able to obtain confirmation of the change from Weatherman.
Weatherman, 25, impressed mightily in a part-time role with Jesse Iwuji Motorsports during the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.
After scoring a top-10 finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway to cap off a five-race run at DGM Racing to start the season, Weatherman moved to the Iwuji team, where he ran a total of 18 races.
