Denny Hamlin, Marcus Smith Engage in Late-Night Fight on X
While most of the NASCAR world was in bed sleeping ahead of this weekend’s triple header race weekend at Martinsville Speedway, Denny Hamlin and Speedway Motorsports CEO Marcus Smith were busy trading insults on X, formerly Twitter.
It all started when Hamlin responded to a picture of Sonoma Raceway’s recently repaved surface falling apart, and said North Wilkesboro would be next. This enraged Smith, who then poked fun at Hamlin for not winning a NASCAR Cup Series championship a few times.
Hamlin told Smith to let someone else more qualified control his company.

Ryan Ellis Lands Sweetwater Construction Corp as Multi-Year Primary Sponsor
New Jersey-based Sweetwater Construction has reached a multi-race, multi-year deal to serve as a primary and secondary sponsorship partner for Ryan Ellis and the No. 43 Alpha Prime Racing NASCAR Xfinity Series team.
Sweetwater will serve as the primary sponsor for Ellis this season at Pocono Raceway and Bristol Motor Speedway.

Chad Finchum Reunites with MBM Motorsports for Xfinity Race at Texas
Chad Finchum is set for a return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in the upcoming Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Finchum will pilot the No. 66 Ford Mustang for MBM Motorsports with primary sponsorship from HART HVAC & Electric.
This will mark Finchum’s first attempt at making the field in a NASCAR National Series event in 2024.
