Christian Eckes Wins Long John Silver’s 200 Truck Series Race at Martinsville
Christian Eckes and McAnally-Hilgemann Racing continued their short track dominance in 2024, taking home the victory in Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Long John Silver’s 200 at Martinsville Speedway.
Eckes, driver of the No. 19 Adaptive One Calipers Chevrolet Silverado, led a race-high 133 of 200 laps en-route to his seventh career victory in the NASCAR Truck Series, and his second of the year — both of which have come on tracks shorter than one-mile in length.
Ty Majeski finished runner-up to Eckes, while Chase Purdy, Nick Sanchez, and Tyler Ankrum completed the top-five. Taylor Gray, Rajah Caruth, Sammy Smith, Kaden Honeycutt, and Corey Heim rounded out the top-10.

Video: Dean Thompson’s Martinsville Race Ends Prematurely After Big Hit in Turn One
If Dean Thompson didn’t have bad luck, he wouldn’t have any luck at all.
After a promising run for the driver of the No. 5 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, Thompson was running on the outside of Grant Enfinger, when contact from another truck sent him up the racetrack and into the side of Thompson — who pounded the outside wall.

Chase Purdy Survives Aggressive Martinsville Race for Much-Needed Third-Place Result
After a difficult start to 2024, Chase Purdy turned things around in a magnificent way Friday at Martinsville Speedway, finishing third-place in the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports.
The driver, who was with Kyle Busch Motorsports last season, scored his first top-10 result of the year (and first top-five) with this result, hopefully jumpstarting the campaign for the Mississippi-native.
“After tonight, I feel pretty damn good about it,” Purdy said about his season so far. “This team can do it. This team can win, we’re winners, and we will win and I truly believe that. It’s not if, it’s when.”

“You’re Supposed to be Better than these F***ing Kids” Timmy Hill Unleashes on Stewart Friesen
If Timmy Hill is mad at you, then you’ve done something wrong.
The long-time journeyman driver let Stewart Friesen have an earful following Friday’s NASCAR Truck Series event at Martinsville Speedway, after the No. 52 got into the side of the No. 56 and turned him around.
Both drivers still managed top-20s, but Hill, a native of Port Tobacco, Maryland, certainly wasn’t pleased with the NASCAR Truck Series veteran.

While nothing is official, yet, a report from Jamie Howe of FOX Sports 1 says that Cam Waters has added a second race to his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series campaign, running the No. 66 Ford F-150 at Kansas Speedway.
The addition to the racing schedule for Waters will have the 29-year-old driver jumping between continents on multiple occasions over six weeks, making a pair of trips to the United States for NASCAR appearances, with a Supercars weekend in New Zealand sandwiched in the middle (April 19 to 21).

Brandon Jones Scores Martinsville Pole; Will Drop to Rear (Rotor Change)
Just when it appeared luck was finally on the side of Brandon Jones, a pole run Friday at Martinsville will be great for show, but not great in practice, as the driver moves to the rear of the field for the DUDE Wipes 250.
Jones matched the track record in time trials, posting a lap time of 19.694 sec. (96.151 mph), earning his ninth pole in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Cole Custer was second with Sheldon Creed in third. Jeb Burton had a great qualifying run for Jordan Anderson Racing in fourth, while Justin Allgaier completed the top-10.
