Denny Hamlin: No Updates on 2024 Plans; ‘I Have a Race Team. I Always Have Options’
One of the biggest talking points in the NASCAR Cup Series as of late, other than the post-season, has been the fate of Denny Hamlin for the 2024 season, as the future Hall of Famer has yet to find a signed contract for the upcoming season.
Hamlin, speaking to members of the media on NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Media Day, says that he has “a lot of irons in the fire”, when asked if contract negotiations have been weighing heavily on him.
“I don’t have anything new to announce,” Hamlin said to the swarm of media. “I’m not trying to leak one word, either, one way or another. It’s on to Darlington.”
However, Hamlin is adamant that his goal is to return to Joe Gibbs Racing in 2024, and to have 23XI Racing, the team he co-owns with Michael Jordan, remain under the Toyota Racing Development umbrella.
