Daniel Hemric has returned to Victory Lane in NASCAR’s National Series, winning Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Martinsville Speedway — his first NASCAR Truck Series win.

Hemric passed teammate Tyler Ankrum with just four laps to go in the event, netting him his first win of the season, and the third straight victory for the No. 19 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing entry at Martinsville.

Tyler Ankrum, Jake Garcia, Chandler Smith, and Ben Rhodes rounded out the top-five. Corey Heim, Andres Perez de Lara, Rajah Caruth, Stewart Friesen, and Lawless Alan rounded out the top ten.

Connor Zilisch Beats Teammate Carson Kvapil for Martinsville Pole

NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying has been taken over by rookies for a second consecutive week.

Connor Zilisch and Carson Kvapil, rookie teammates out of the JR Motorsports stable, will be leading the field to green in Saturday’s US Marine Corps 250 at Martinsville Speedway, after topping the speed charts in Friday’s qualifying session.

Zilisch, driving the No. 88 Carolina Carports-sponsored Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, posted a quick time of 19.888 seconds (95.213mph) to secure the pole position for Saturday’s 250-lap contest from the half-mile paperclip.

Carson Kvapil, Austin Hill, Jesse Love, and Harrison Burton rounded out the top-five starters for Saturday’s 250-lap contest from Martinsville.
